Savour the essence of Hong Kong’s street food culture when you head to any of Central Hong Kong Café’s outlets at Northpoint City, Jurong Point, Star Vista, Wheelock Place, and Vivo City.

There, you’ll get to experience Hong Kong’s ubiquitous cha chaan tengs in the heart of Singapore with the cafe’s Hong Kong-style fast food. Think wallpapered scenes depicting Hong Kong’s bustling Central district, and panoramic views from Victoria Peak, that add to the atmosphere.

On the menu, foodies will be glad to see familiar staples like Rickshaw and Beef Brisket Noodles, Fried Egg and Luncheon Meat Instant Noodles, rice rolls and egg tarts at wallet-friendly prices.

Our very first dish, Fresh Salted Egg Fish Skin, which was crispy and moist, was most addictive. The café’s Braised Beef Brisket Noodles took us back to the streets with its succulent and generous chunks of beef served with noodle soup.

The Fried Lamian with Seafood features springy noodles, a generous serving of seafood, and “wok hei” flavour, while the Curry Fish Balls, coated in thick curry sauce, are reminiscent of the times spent walking down Mong Kok or Tsim Sha Tsui.

Feeling hungry? You’ll want to tuck into its Hong Kong Chicken Curry on Rice – curry-coated chicken fillets draped over aromatic white rice, and fluffy Hong Kong style rice rolls (also known as chee cheong fun).

Then, end things on a sweet note with the café’s refreshing Mango with palm fruit and Ai Yu Jelly, and Stocking milk tea, or Honey with lemon.
